OX11 was the cruiser Star Leaf's on-board computer, one of many almost-human machines created by the Solnoid race. Can't tell you any more about him/it, though, without giving away a plot point from the best anime saga ever made....
The Gall Force saga (currently) consists of nine chapters*, which can be divided into three chronological parts: the original trilogy, the (four) Earth chapters, and the (two) new era episodes. The trilogy is excellent in terms of story, design and music. The first of the earth stories, "Rhea Gall Force", comes close to maintaining those high standards, but the next three chapters don't succeed. And then there are the new era volumes.... (Shades of "Bubblegum Crisis" / "Crash".) However, it's worth watching them all as they bring the story full circle.
*Note - another GF story has arrived since this was put up. However, it is not part of the "real" saga, taking place in an alternate time/space continuum, About the only similarity to GF is the same character names were used. It's okay on its own, but it has nothing at all to do with GF. If you miss it, you haven't missed much.
The first chapter, "Eternal Story", starts in the middle of a battle between the Solnoids and the Paranoids. War has been going on for centuries, so long that no one knows how it started or why. We join -what remains of- the crew of the Solnoid cruiser Star Leaf as they head towards the artificially-engineered planet Chaos - the promised land. As they fight their way to Chaos things -and people- turn out to be other than what they seemed.
"Eternal Story" borrows from "Star Wars", "Alien" and "Silent Running", but there's a lot of originality, too. As with "Star Wars", the first volume can stand on its own, but the entire trilogy should be viewed to fully enjoy (and understand) each of the three parts.
Along the way, as asides, we discover why earth's moon appears as it does,
how the asteroid belt was formed and how human life originated on earth.
And the latter follows neither the Darwinian nor creationist view. (It does
jibe with my own beliefs, though - uhoh.) And, unlike in many stories, guns
run out of ammo, good guys die, plans that couldn't possibly succeed...fail.
Be forewarned, it's not for the happy-ending crowd.

These are publically-accessible Gall Force links I've found.
I haven't included links which point solely to those already listed,

They are listed chronologically. If you have one, send me the url.
This list seems to shrink every time I validate these links.... :(
